This September 2021, Apple released the much anticipated iPhone 13 series which had a few similarities and a few unique features which made it stand out in comparison to the previous iPhone 12. The iPhone 13 series was launched at Apple’s ‘California Streaming’ event which took place virtually on September 14th. Although other new products such as iPads and Apple Watches with bigger screens were introduced, the main focus of this event was on the iPhone 13 lineup.
Like the previous iPhone 12, this year’s lineup will also consist of four types i.e. the iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, Pro, and Pro Max. Although each phone is similar yet there are a few key differences apart that make the lineup unique.
All in all, this is everything you need to know about the its lineup, the specifications, what’s new, and more.

iPhone 13 And 13 Mini – The Entry-Level Range
Display
These entry-level iPhones come in two models or versions i.e. the regular iPhone 13 with a 16-inch display and a much smaller 5.4-inch display iPhone 13 Mini. Both phones have an OLED panel which means the display would be much brighter than last year’s lineup. Moreover, the sides are still aluminum sandwiched between the two slabs of glass giving the iPhone 13 a very similar design to the previous model.
However, unlike the previous iPhone 12, which had a major redesign, the iPhone 13 has only a few changes in terms of design. One of the most notable changes is that Apple had slimmed down the Face ID notch which means the notch on the screen is now 20 percent smaller and it overall takes less space at the top of your phone which seems a better improvement.
Meet The New A15 Bionic Chip
Although there are not many updates to the design, it’s what’s inside the phone that counts. The iPhone 13 is now officially rocking a more powerful processor i.e. the A15 Bionic which Apple claims is faster and more power-efficient than last year’s A14 Bionic chip. All in all, it is still a 5nm chip with a 6-core CPU but yet the Cupertino-based tech giant says it’s the ‘fastest CPU in a smartphone’ and is up to 50 percent faster than its competitors in the smartphone market.

Improved Battery Life
Additionally, this year Apple also prioritized battery life in its iPhone 13 lineup as it will get 1.5 hours more battery life than its predecessor while the regular iPhone 13 will have 2.5 more battery life as compared to the iPhone 12. Moreover, with the iPhone 13 now powered with the A15, it will be much more efficient in terms of battery power which will feature additional software improvements and optimizations.
A More Advanced Camera System
Apple is well known for its amazing camera features and unique modes. This year Apple has introduced new features to its camera and had even displayed a few short films in order to further bring about the value of these unique features.
However, on the outside the camera design is almost similar to the iPhone 12 lineup, the lens has just been rearranged. The new wide sensor is a 12-megapixel lens with an f/1.6 aperture. On the other hand, the 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera has a much faster f/2.4 lens with a 120-degree field of view. In addition, the camera system also features sensor-shift stabilization technology which physically moves the wide sensor to reduce vibrations.
The new cameras will also be featuring ‘photographic profiles’ which will allow you to customize the look of your photos in a more advanced way.
The highlight reel of the camera system was the new ‘cinematic mode’ for the video which allows high-end focus effect and changes it on its own during a video. The company had shown off the cinematic mode in a few short films which were recorded through the iPhone 13. In a nutshell, when recording a video the cinematic mode will automatically shift focus while filming in real-time and as people glance away from the camera it will change its focus on the next object that comes in its way. However, you’ll be able to manually change focus or lock focus on a particular object hence giving you total control.
This cinematic mode is also available for the front-facing camera.

Improved 5G Performance
The iPhone 13 will also feature more band support for better international 5G experiences. Apple has ensured that it will support over 200 carriers in over 60 countries and regions by the end of the year.
Storage Options
The base-model range of the iPhone 13 lineup will offer storage options from 128GB up to 512GB.
Price Range
The regular iPhone 13 will cost around $799 while its Mini version has a price tag of $699. However, Apple announced that there would be a $30 discount from specific carriers.

Similar to the entry-level range the high-end range will also rock the all-powerful A15 Bionic chip. However, there are a few prominent features that make the Pro and Pro Max the high-end range in the first place.
These phones will be available in four colors i.e. graphite, gold, silver, light blue. Its covers and cases will be available at calibrant shop soon. You can view our cases by clicking here.
High-End XDR Displays
The Pro and Pro Max will feature the super retina XDR displays with variable refresh rates of between 10Hz and 120Hz. Moreover, both models have slightly smaller notches that will ensure more space in the iOS status bar.

Go All-Pro With The New Camera System
Both models will have an all-new three-camera system where the wide camera would offer better low-light photography due to its larger sensor. On the other hand, the phone’s telephoto camera now goes up to 3x zoom hence enabling a 6x optical zoom across the three cameras.
Moreover, the camera system features a night mode, macro mode for photographing objects at just 2cm, and sensor-shift optical image stabilization.
However, on the software end of the camera system, Apple has introduced a new feature called photographic styles which makes you feel like they are just random filters but actually bring about high-end computational photography.
Coming to the video side of the camera, both models will be able to film in up to 4K/30fps in ProRes which will overall offer a higher quality video format that gives video editors more control even after the video has been shot.

Bigger Phone, Bigger Battery
Although the entire iPhone 13 lineup will rock the new A15 Bionic chip, the battery life performance on the Pro and Pro Max will be significantly better as the 13 Pro will last 1.5 hours longer than the 12 Pro while the 13 Pro Max will last 2.5 hours longer than the 12 Pro Max.
Storage Options
The high-end range of the iPhone 13 lineup will offer storage options ranging from 128GB all the way up to 1TB. This is the highest storage option that Apple has to offer.
Price Range
The iPhone 13 Pro will be priced around $999 while the 13 Pro Max will have a price range of $1,099. However, it is to be noted that prices can vary based on what storage option do you select for your phone.
